Core Income Skills To Outsource When Starting An Online Business

Running a business has many moving parts.  As a solopreneur it can be overwhelming.  Most of the tasks can be outsourced to qualified individuals.

Outsourcing tasks you don’t want to do or aren’t great at allows you to concentrate on what you are good at.

There are many companies and individuals that will happily take on some of the tasks you just don’t want to do.  You do not have to do it all and you don’t have to hire any employees. You can outsource these mundane tasks to others.

Some of these tasks you can outsource:

    • Admin tasks, bookkeeping & accounting:  Having an assistant to keep you on track, handle your schedule, travel plans, files, payroll, books and so on is like duplicating yourself.
    • Website design and maintenance:  Unless you’re good at or enjoy website design and maintenance, let someone else handle it.  It can be extremely time consuming to learn and maintain this task.
    • Content creation:  If you have a blog, creating articles is key to your blog.  Blogs help you to become an authority in your field and builds a community your customers rely on.
    • Email marketing:  “The money is in the list”  Having a list is important and so is keeping your list active and engaged.
    • Images and video:  Your company logo, images and video for your Youtube channel and blog.
    • Social media:  Social media is not just for following and keeping up with your friends.  It’s a valuable tool to run your business. Once you create a business profile, posting and connecting with your business followers should be a regular and consistent task.  Letting others handle this will free you up for more important things.
    • Customer service and IT support:  Responding to customer requests, handling inquiries, orders, returns and other issues occurs at all hours, nights and weekends. Having help to handle these concerns has huge benefits.
    • Advertising:  Facebook marketing is one of the more popular advertising methods.  Unless you have lots of time and money, outsourcing this task may be a wise choice to help with setting up a campaign, what’s included in the ad, when and how to create it.

When you’re ready to outsource, post your job on a site like Fiverr or Upwork.  Be clear on what you’re looking for and what the job pays. Ask your potential workers questions not only on their past work, but on providing you with something specific before they are offered the job.  If they can’t follow your simple questions and instructions they may not be right for the job.

There are a variety of reasons to outsource including saving time and money, having more skilled people handle more complicated tasks.  Consider outsourcing in your business to take you to the next level.
