Making money in affiliate marketing

is a way to add another source of income. It’s a way to make a commission for selling or referring other people’s product or service.

I had a vision to work for myself and able to be in charge of my own time and to make some money. So I thought about starting a traditional business or even buying a franchise. But then I thought that those can take lots of money and time, so I took to the Internet and began my search.

I came across many opportunities and then I came across Making Money In Affiliate Marketing.

What the heck is Affiliate Marketing?

Some people have no idea what Affiliate Marketing is.

So what is it?

It’s simple really.

Affiliate marketing is where you can simply make money just by recommending something you already like or use.

Think about the last time you went to a really great movie or restaurant. What did you do the next day? Did you happen to tell a friend how great it was?

The only difference between telling someone about a really great movie or restaurant and affiliate marketing is with affiliate marketing you make a commission.

You’ll set up an agreement between a merchant and an affiliate (you) to earn a commission for generating sales or leads for the merchant.

For example, if you promote a TV which sells for $500, as an affiliate of xyz company, they pay you a 10% commission or $50.00!

Not bad.

Do that over and over again and making money on your own terms feels pretty great.

Because merchants pay different commissions, look for a company, products, and commission amounts you like.

Affiliate Marketing Pros and Cons

Pros

- - It’s quick and easy to get set up as an affiliate with a company, get a link to refer or promote to others.
  - Steady or recurring income: Once you generate a good amount of traffic, the sales will follow. Also, you get a cut of the sales, generating a steady income.
  - Customer service: The merchant will handle all customer service, therefore you don’t have to deal with any customer service.
  - No pills, potions or products to purchase or store.
  - Another pro is the flexibility: Work from home on your own terms.

Cons

- - Commissions can range from a few percentage amounts to 40-50% or more. So do your research to find a good commission you can live with.
  - Learning curve: Take some time to read & learn affiliate marketing as a business.
  - Payment upon sale: Once a sale is made, you get paid.
  - Scams: You need to sort through and research merchants to make sure you align

In addition to making money, the fact is if you’re dedicated, anyone can join and make money with affiliate marketing. It can be a very rewarding career.

It’s especially easy to get started in affiliate marketing and create passive income. If you like a company and the products or services they have, look to see if they have an affiliate program. Most of the time there will be link to sign up for their program. If not and you really want to promote a product, just send an email and ask something like, “I use xxx and I love it. I wonder if you have an affiliate program. I’d like to recommend your xxx to my friends/customers.”

It’s always a great idea to like and have tried a product or service you choose to promote. Making money is great, but do you believe in the product or service? If you didn’t like something for yourself or your family would you really recommend something to someone else for a buck? Is it worth risking your reputation? Will people trust you in the future if you refer them to something that is sub-par?
