Is Having A Home Business A Good Idea?

Some people dream of starting their own home business, but put off, and put off taking the leap.  It could be because of fear, or beliefs that “it takes money to make money”  The fear of the unknown keeps them from taking the plunge, but if they put a little thought and research into it, they may be pleasantly surprised a Home Business is possible. 

These are some of the reasons a Home Business just makes sense. 

1. 1. 1. Flexibility. Work when you want and how often you want. 
      2. Work from anywhere. Work from your home office, a park or a beach if you so choose.
      3. You’re the boss. No one tells you what to do, you make your own choices. 
      4. Pursue your passion with purpose. You can do what makes you happy.
      5. Meet new people. Network and connect with other entrepreneurs and professionals.
      6. Build a team. You decide who you want to hire or work with.
      7. Help people.  You have the opportunity to improve people’s lives.
      8. Become an expert.  Practice makes perfect.  
      9. Invest in yourself.  Take care of #1, and you’ll reap the rewards.
      10. Make more money.  You’re not limited by an hourly wage.
      11. Financial independence. You’re responsible for your own future.
      12. Tax benefits. Business expenses are tax deductible.
      13. New challenges every day.  Challenge yourself with new ideas.  No one will shoot it down.
      14. Learn to embrace failure.  Learn more from your mistakes to be even better.
      15. Hire a coach. Learn from others who’ve already been successful in your field.
      16. Become a mentor or coach. Take what you know and mentor or coach someone else.
      17. Attend new training or seminars. Learn something new to add to your skills and stay updated.
      18. Outsource:  Only do the things you love, delegate the boring tasks.
      19. Donate:  Donate your time or money to causes that are important to you. 
      20. Get things done faster.  You get to prioritize what’s important.  Do the most important things first.
      21. Inspire others.  Be an inspiration for others to look up to.
      22. Build a personal brand. Figure out who you are and who you want you want to be and how it extends to your business.  Build a brand that has a good reputation and is recognizable. 
      23. Be creative. Daydream and be open to your wildest ideas.
      24. Find pride and fulfillment. Be happy in your work and find meaning in what you do.
      25. Reach your dreams.  Finally pursue what you’ve always dreamed of.
      26. Leave a Legacy.  Provide a business for generations to come.

I have no doubt there are many more reasons to start your own home business.  There’s risks, sure, but there’s also rewards.  Where will you be one year from now if you do nothing?  What are the possibilities if you do take the leap?
