Is Patience Important?

Owning a business has many challenges and at times can try your patience.  If you want to have a long-term successful business, patience is a great trait to possess.  

Building a successful business takes time, commitment and patience.  There’s lots of moving parts, sales, clients, bookkeeping, advertising and more.  Remember the fable about the tortoise and the hare?  Who won?  The hare of course.  Being steady and consistent returns results.  

Sometimes you get frustrated, but having some patience is beneficial.  If you ever wonder what some of the benefits are well here’s a few.

What’s the benefit of practicing patience?

• • Great things take time:  If things happened instantly as soon as you dream it up it would be an interesting world and possibly chaotic.  The chances of you creating a million dollar business as soon as you open the doors is pretty slim.  It takes time and energy.  Just like a garden takes time to produce fruit, so do great things.  Patience.
  • Timing is everything:   Waiting for the right moment is important.   Sometimes running a promotion over a holiday is best.  Or have you ever wanted to ask your partner something like where you want to go on vacation?  There’s a right time and a wrong time to broach the subject.
  • Things get clearer with time:  Sometimes things are not entirely clear when you’re first introduced to an issue.  “Hindsight is 2020” Once a situation has passed and you look back everything seems so much more clear.  Take the time and stew on it for awhile and things become much more clear.
  • You make better decisions: Before making a life altering decision, “sleep on it” is wise advice.  When you have time to think about all your options and the best possible solution you tend to make the best decisions.
  • Your commitment to success is clear:  Staying the course, being patient means you get things done and make things happen.
